The Medical Officer of Health has confirmed that a person with lab-confirmed measles has been at the Misericordia Community Hospital, while infectious. While the risk is low, we feel it is important to share this information with our teams.

The attached PDF documentĀ from Alberta Health Services health advisory lists the dates and times of potential exposure.

If you meet all of the following three criteria, you may be at risk of developing measles.

If you:

  1. were in the locations in the timeframes listed in the AHS health advisory.
  2. were born after 1970.
  3. have NOT already had measles disease or have NOT received two doses of measles vaccine.

Additionally, any pregnant women or people with infants under one-year-old who were present at the Misericordia on May 10, 11 or 12 is asked to call Health Link at 811 for assessment.

Your health and well-being is important. Occupational Health, Safety and Wellness is identifying and following up with any potentially affected staff members. Please take the time to review the attached health advisory for more information.
